Infoblox
Inc. today announced that the recently published IDC report: “Worldwide
IP Address Management 2011-2015 Forecast and Analysis” (July 2011),
which sizes the market for DNS,
DHCP
and IPAM
(DDI) solutions, confirms that Infoblox leads over all other companies
in the IP Address Management market.
According to IDC, Infoblox achieved 32.5 percent market share in 2010 as
a result of meeting IT needs with built-in automation and virtualization
functionality and a comprehensive IPAM
solution for Microsoft DNS and DHCP.
Infoblox pioneered the development of integrated DDI appliances and
helped build the commercial DDI market as evidenced by its more than
4,950 customers, including more than one third of the Fortune 500.
Infoblox is continually raising the bar with solutions designed to meet
forthcoming IPv6,
DNSSEC,
virtualization
and cloud initiatives.
These initiatives, as well as exploding IP-based device growth and
support for mobile workers, were acknowledged in the IDC report as key
drivers for continued IPAM market growth and a call to action for
enterprises to consider commercial IPAM solutions instead of general
purpose server, freeware and spreadsheet options.
The report stated: “It is unlikely that spreadsheet-based processes and
free solutions will be able to provide the automation and control
necessary for IT to effectively manage this increasingly complex and
important set of network services processes with sufficient rigor,
control, availability, and security. IPAM solutions will become the
preferred path for enterprises going forward.”
Steve Nye, Infoblox Executive Vice President of Product Strategy and
Corporate Development, commented, “IDC’s recent IPAM market share report
recognizing Infoblox’s leadership represents a significant milestone:
Infoblox integrated DDI solutions with essential resiliency, real-time
manageability and security advantages are the dominant choice of
enterprises and service providers to meet the newest business demands
for ‘always on’ network and application access.”
IDC’s recognition of Infoblox as the IPAM market leader comes closely on
the heels of several additional industry accolades, including Infoblox
achieving the highest rating of “Strong Positive” in the Gartner
2011 MarketScope for DDI products; notable placement on the Inc.
5000 list of fastest growing private companies; and, Infoblox’s
ranking as one of Silicon Valley’s fastest growing companies by the Silicon
Valley/San Jose Business Journal in its “Fast
Private” list.
